Weekend in Burney

Okay, Lara, here are some more pictures. :)

Thanks for the fishing pole, Uncle Joe! Check out my fishy!

It's summertime! The fish are biting..woohoo!

Baby hands...so cute.

Tim does surprisingly well in his life vest.

Tim's First Smile

An oldie, but goodie... One of the nurses at Children's, Linda, took this one.
More new ones to come.

New Pictures

Sleeping Boys

Brian and Tim are alseep and I'm not, so I finally have time to post. Brian got really sick on Wednesday -- fever, vomiting, diarrhea. I am very nervous that Tim might catch it from Brian and have to go back to Children's Hospital so it's been hard to sleep. I feel really bad because I'm not able to be with Brian very much (in order to avoid getting sick myself because I need to take care of Tim). For those of you who know me well, you know that being with Brian is my #1 favorite place to be. I can't wait for things to be back to normal and I'm sure Brian is even more anxious.
The other day Lara invited me to her house to pick out scrapbook supplies that her friend, Grace, was getting rid of. It was such a fun night. I couldn't believe all of the cool stuff that I was given. Grace's new name is Santa G. It truly felt like Christmas only 100x better. I donated to Santa G's charity, Nanay, a group in which young adults and elderly women come together for activities. Santa G's generosity not only made my day, but it inspired me to scrapbook again. It also made me want to give back to everyone else. I'm sure Grace doesn't know what an impact she has made. Thanks, Santa G.
Tim has been such a cutie. He's really doing so much now. He stays sitting up by himself, rolls around, walks all over in his walker, laughs & giggles, babbles (especially when he's tired), falls asleep easily in his car seat, grabs his feet especially when he has his cute crib shoes on, grabs our faces. He loves taking baths and hates having his shirt put on. He's 25 lbs now and I'm not sure how tall..over 30". He's slowed down on his weight gain finally and looks more stretched out although he still has his squeezable legs. He loves jumping and walking. Our wrestling mat has been a great buy. He rolls all over it and plays with each toy he rolls to. Eating wise, Tim has tried a bunch of fruits and vegetables -- squash, bananas, green beans, peaches. I think bananas are his favorite food but his formula is by far his #1 choice. I can't wait until Tim can run and play sports with us. He will be a fun little guy to play with.
Brian and I have been working hard. We have a vacation planned in San Diego. I'm hoping the weather will be good but it will be fun no matter what. We are staying at the Kings Inn in San Diego. They have a nice pool & hot tub. Last weekend, Brian bought Tim a floating seat for the hot tub. We used it in Burney and it was great. Tim loved it so we're bringing it to San Diego. We hope to surf a little, check out some houses to see how much the market has dropped down there (crazy drops) and go to Sea World. I talked to Tim's geneticist and he said UCSD has a Children's Hospital with a great geneticist so we should be fine if Tim gets sick down there. Speaking of the housing market in San Diego, if we already owned a home here and could still afford it, I would buy a vacation place in San Diego in a heartbeat. The prices are unreal! San Diego is so nice too. Oh well. We'll see how the market is in SD once we are able to afford a home here...maybe the market will go so low that we can afford both. Woohoo!
I have some good pictures of Tim but haven't had time to download them yet. I will post soon.

Photo shoot of Tim

Here are the latest pictures of Tim. He's just over 6 1/2 months old now. His personality is really coming out. He loves people - laughs & smiles a lot. He's easy going and such a cutie. He's grabbing things w/ both hands now & moving, rolling and "talking" a lot. We bought a wrestling mat and have spent a lot of floor time w/ Tim. I'm sure the mat will be our "best buy" this year. He loves his bouncer and bounces like crazy. His ultimate favorite thing is looking in the mirror (at himself, then at me, then at Dad, then at himself) -- it cracks him up. He's still having trouble sitting up by himself due to decreased tone in his core muscles but he gets stronger every day. Tim rarely cries... usually just for a minute or two at night to fall asleep. He sleeps almost 12 hours (so nice) and has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months old. (We are so lucky to have him as our son.) He just started eating solids (rice cereal, carrots, bananas). It has been fairly easy adding the solids into his diet because the usual baby starter foods are all low protein. So far, so good.
It's really fun watching Tim change lately. He's doing new things every day now.
I'm dead tired. I've been working hard and I'm so grateful for all that I have. It has been tough not having all of my free time to spend w/ Brian. That's the part I miss the most but we've been doing good at making things work. Brian is the best husband. I love him so much.

A note from Timmy (he loves typing):

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Last Saturday, the weather was great so we played a game of pick up soccer with our friends then Brian, Tim and I went over to Santa Cruz for a quick trip. We checked out Cowells (surf spot) and the waves were awesome! I was pretty bummed that we didn't have our boards or a babysitter with us. Next time. We walked over to the Boardwalk to check things out. It was fun looking at all of the games/rides. I didn't remember the Boardwalk having so many rides...I think they must have fixed it up since I last went. It was fun. Tim was a good little guy. He wore his surfer shorts and rash guard most of the day. He got to put his feet in the sand and surf. I was surprised that he didn't mind the cold Santa Cruz water. Maybe he'll get to surf next year. :)
I've got to get to bed but I wanted to do a quick post. Hopefully I'll do better at staying up on my posts next time.
